Shattered Walls Rebuilt

Islam

Salvation through works. I live in a very interesting multi-cultural society where Christians, Hindus, Buddhists and Muslims live side by side, work side by side, and play side by side everyday. Naturally I find myself interacting with people of many faiths. Here I’ll talk about my Muslim friends.

Much of what they believe in is obedience and reverence.Which explains the 5 times a day prayer. The fasting month. The importance of cleanliness.

I won’t go into all the details (websites do tha t for you), but I do have a hope for these people. That one day they will believe in Jesus, and know Him as their Saviour.

I’ve always seen Muslims as dear ones, because I have many Muslim friends. They seek salvation, yet are unsure of it. It’s all dependent on God’s will. Insya-Allah, as they say. I do wish to tell them one thing, that Jesus has already paid the price, and faith is all that is needed!

But here in my country, a huge problem arises, one that is dependent on the founding constitution which states that this certain group of people called the Malays must be Muslim. And part of Malay identity is being a Muslim. Doesn’t it lay upon their future generations, a destiny that they have not chosen? For all their lives, from birth to adulthood they are taught only one thing, to revere.

God’s heart yearns for His children.

New Beginnings

“Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities.

Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls and a restorer of homes.” -Isaiah 58:11

It’s funny how hard it is to write on the first post. I’m not really sure how this blog started, but it started as an initiative for something new. This blog needs no promoting, consider it a space of expression of thoughts. Maybe someone will stumble on this page. But until then, here are the words I choose to speak. Freely, and thoughtfully.
